Task:

To deliver a session as part of Defence Support’s ‘Let’s Talk Culture’ conference that would support building an inclusive culture, focussing upon exploring Defence Support Values and tackling issues arising from staff surveys.  The conference was aimed at civilian, military and contractor personnel who work across different sites.

Solution

Through tailored scenarios, the session was designed to equip participants with the tools, knowledge and confidence to address unacceptable language and behaviour. The programme encouraged participants to increase their self-awareness around their behaviours and biases to promote an inclusive culture. We explored the challenges of working in different locations various working patterns and hybrid working, discussing their impact upon inclusivity and accessibility. Managing workload pressures and differing leadership/ communication styles was also highlighted.
